Welcome to the forum! This is the place to learn.

I have an SE-8, but I probably can't help much with the electronics and software, since I only bought it for the OTA. But it is a popular package, and I am sure lots of members use them and can help you.

Welcome on board Clake! You have a nice scope there. If you want to operate your scope using skyPortal app on your phone you do need to remove the StarSense. SkyPortal uses GoTo capabilities of your SE mount. It is like operating your scope with hand controller, but instead of wired hand controller you use your phone connecting it to the scope via the WiFi adapter.
