Placement is a non issue. Over tightening might be a problem.

I have found most people over tighten the tube clamps, they only need to be snug enough to hold the telescope.
I have seen some before that were so tight it dented the tube.
Moving clamp locations is just for ease of balance.
Some nice refractors, eyepieces, mounts and related equipment
The only culture I have is from yogurt

maybe the person worded their problem incorrectly, maybe they were getting some sag from seconday to primary , a bit of a warp from the tube rings , knowing the scope was collimated correctly before, pinching optics with tube rings is something i've never seen, optics are usualy free floating on a plate in most telescope setups, the tube is just a mere outside structure or even to just baffle out light ..

even most refractor lenses should be in thier own housing cell, i can only think of guide scopes or smaller scopes that have the tube and optics touching .

Glad you were amused. It was a stream of consciousness post, the first thought I had.....
