I am very pleased that you have enjoyed this.
This image is, as most of what I do, serendipity.
I stumbled on this lighting effect at my old observing site. Unfortunately this site has been somewhat degraded as an observing dark site by farm lights recently installed about 200 yards to the north. When I observe now I hide in a thin sliver of shadow cast by the barn on which these lights are mounted. It was from this position that I took these photographs. I had been out about 45 minutes trying to capture something...anything. I was shooting into the darkness but the light pollution from these lights ruined every one of my shots. I began a rotation around the sky to see if in any direction this LP was in some way less problematic. The last position I shot was this, and when I saw the preview on the back of my camera I was very surprised. I was actually thrilled !
I process the data in PS5. If anyone is interested I can post the original file for comparison and mutual edification.
Thank you very much for wonderful compliment!
