I just don't know how to see if the filter is a good quality one.

I've adopted Baader Planetarium filters. One has to be careful about filter optical quality. I haven't tried the ones you've linked. I know from trying others that inexpensive color filters can degrade the image.

I had various color filters that were made By Synta which I suspect were the same as the Omegons. I found they produced an unacceptable deterioration in image quality. So I decided that inexpensive filters were a waste. I then tried the Baader filters and am happy with them.

Folks often do not appreciate that a filter has to have extremely flat optical surfaces and quality glass. Otherwise they are worthless. YMMV.

Are you looking at this filter due to light pollution?
If so it will not work well.
The only thing that does is getting to darker skies.

Yes. Colored glass filters like this only work on planetary objects like Jupiter's Red Spot, high clouds and polar caps on Mars, etc. For DSOs its totally useless.

A cheaper alternative is to look on ebay for B+W 48mm (2") or 31.7mm (1.25") photographic filters.
These can usually be found relatively cheap and are of good quality.
I purchased a extra 48mm FL-D filter to use on Mars and Jupiter and it cost only 12€ in as new condition.

Hoya also makes some adequate filters to start with so I would look for those as well.

I learned in a video that these types of filters were a "combination" of lunar filters, filters for Jupiter... Is it true what the video says? By the way, I'll be using it for dark skies.

Would an Explore Scientific filter be good?

Proper filters will show you what sections of the light spectrum the enhance or block, if you are looking for a good filter for Jupiter the B+W FL-D I already mentioned works very well, the Baader Moon Neodymium is another good one but more expensive.
I use both of these viewing Jupiter and Mars.

I have never used the Explore Scientific filters so others would have to answer that question.

My remarks on the Omegon filters are predicated on the assumption of Synta manufacture. I've no opinion on ES filters. I just switched to Baader and never looked back.

I have B+W neutral density filters which are excellent!

Sorry if I said I was going to buy the filter, there are just so many things in that shop!

This is something to avoid, the filters are the poor quality ones we have mentioned before and the eyepieces are not very good quality.
Since you have a Newtonian, when you look at an eyepiece description and it is a Kellner avoid them.
The most useful thing about the kit is the case.

Heartily agreed. There are better and cheaper ways to acquire cases, doorstops, and paperweights. I think these kits are awful, optically. For a low price the unfortunate buyer gets a large number of items that look like optics but are questionable.
