Bought two recently (9 and 17.5mm) and found them to be very immersive, and especially like the 76 deg AFOV. How do the others, in particular the 12.5 and 6.5mm compare. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Both of the 12.5mm and 6.5mm worked great in my refractors and the friend I borrowed them from uses a Newtonian and these are his favorite eyepieces.
I think the 17,5mm and 6.5mm are the standout eyepieces of the line. The 6.5mm was almost an equal of the Pentax XW 5mm.

Thanks Gabrielle, the 9mm was bought spur of the moment just to try out and compare against a 10mm and 8mm I have and it has quickly become a favourite, so would now like to try others in the series.

Using these for a few months now, they have quickly become my favourites in my 10 and 18 inch scopes. The 76 degree AFOV , long eyerelief (about 20mm) and very wide lenses make for very pleasing and immersive views. Most of my other eyepieces are a mix of Ethos, Nagler , Delos, ES and Pentax and the Morpheus hold their own. The 9mm has impressed me that much that I'm looking at selling my 8mm Ethos. I'm now looking at the 12.5 and 6.5mm to add to these.

Baader really did a good job with these after the Hyperion

Definitely better than the Hyperion range. I was never a fan of Baader eyepieces, but the Morpheus has changed that.

Finally ordered the 6.5 and 12.5mm Morpheus eyepieces to complement the 17.5 and 9mm I already have, will receive them in about a week.

Congratulations Ivan. The M6.5 is a mighty good eyepiece. I'm sure you'll like it a great deal.

I don't know the M12.5. I'm curious about how it compares to the M17.5 (which I think is one of the best eyepieces of all time.) Please report back on the M12.5!

Finally got the 12.5 and 6.5mm Morpheus yesterday and as luck would have it, it was clear and the moon wasn't rising till 9.55pm, so gave me about an hour to test them on DSO's and later on the moon. I found the view through all the morpheus very immersive and very contrasty. I mainly spent time on the Eta Carina nebula, the LMC, a few clusters ( mainly open, but omega Centauri was clearing the treetops to the southeast and made another good target).They were viewed through a 10 inch F6. The 12.5mm (120x) and 6.5mm (230x) worked flawlessly, and the quality of the view was on par with 17.5 and 9mm morpheus, really hard to pick a favourite, but on the 10 inch, I kept coming back to the 12.5mm more than the others. On the 18 inch, the 9mm gets more use than the 17.5, but that's more to do with the targets I prefer.
I've already used the 17.5 and 9mm on the moon for a few months now and found them exceptional, comparable to my Delos, Delites and Pentax XW's but with that immersive feel. The 180 Mak could easily handle the 6.5mm (415x) last night, and the view was crisp to the edge. The field stop is not sharp, but has a slightly blurred blue edge to it (see attached pic), but this didn't distract me at all. The 12.5mm likewise produced great views. The eyecups on these work fine, but I prefer to use all my eyepieces without the eyecups on or rolled down, I completely remove them, I just find the view more immersive without them on, through most of my eyepieces, but especially with the morpheus line.

Thanks, The only other one I'm looking at is the 4.5mm, the 14mm is too close to the 17.5 and 12.5, so I won't be getting that one.

I have been looking to buy a good set of eyepieces and this post caught my eye. Baader is offering these at $50 off($189/each) until April 15. They have the complete set with a nice box and a few misc things for $1125. I was looking at the Televue Ethos but cost def plays in. I’m sure the Ethos would have the edge but after reading the reviews it seems the Morpheus line are great performers for the money; especially with the current sale.

The Morpheus range stands up optically to the best. They don't have the AFOV of the Ethos or Nagler but with the long ER they are a lot more comfortable. In reality the 76 degree view doesn't look much smaller than the 82 degree series, and the view is a lot more immersive. The only issues are the poorly designed eyecups and on some of the range, the filter threads are too short, filters don't screw in all the way. Apart from that, they are great eyepieces. ( For clarity, I'm comparing these to Ethos, Nagler, Delos, Delite and Pentax XW's I personally own and on scopes from F 4 to F15).

Hello [mention]Alpena67[/mention] . I think the 14mm may not be as good as the rest. There are a few reliable and experienced observers who mention it has field curvature (a curved focal plane) as well as astigmatism. This makes the eyepiece less sharp at the edge of the view, especially in fast scopes.

There's also that the 12.5mm is very close in focal length to the 14mm.

If you skip the 14mm and buy the others you'll save some $150 compared to getting the complete set with case and discount. For those $150 you should be able to find a nice case.

Not buying a complete set also has the advantage that you can buy one or a few at a time. I know someone who gathered a complete set by buying used eyepieces, saving quite a lot of money that way.

(The poor eye cup design was a problem in the first run, but this has been solved in later runs.)

Thanks for the comments; After reviewing several articles(though they were older) the eyecup issue was mentioned in most of them. I didn’t read about any curvature issues with the 14mm but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. I haven’t made a 100% decision yet as this will be a big expenditure either way. Good thing is the Baaders are on sale until April 15.

What telescope will you be using them with?
More accurate advice can be given if you create a signature containing your equipment.
Sometimes you can replace the eyecups with different ones so that may not be an issue.

Opinions on Morpheus line in particular are split, they work well for some but not for the others. To think about that applies to any EP line, premium or not. So, once again good idea to try before buy.

Finding what works for you in this hobby is fun, but could be expensive. However, if you buy used or on sale you can always recoup most of your investment.
