This is a test of imaging with the ASI174MM mini I bought for OAG guiding with my EdgeHD8. I have always struggled with getting the full disk of the Sun in my solar images using my Coronado. I wondered if the larger sensor of the 174 would make a difference.

Turns out it made a huge difference. I think I will try solar imaging with the mini rather than buying the real version of the 174 with USB3.0. Frame rate was horrendous at 15 fps, but it still is a pretty good image. This required very little processing and shows the current solar activity pretty well I think.
