I did take time to look. It was amazing! I wasn't ready for it to be over. I was able to notice all the different features, the change in temperature, animal noises, air pressure, flat sunset without a golden hour, 360 degree sunrise, etc. I used a camera with a touchy flip screen. I had it ready just as totality set. Then all I needed to do was touch the screen to set the trigger off. It was the best of both worlds. I have to say that was the quickest 2 minutes 46 seconds that I can remember. If I had to choose between camera and visual I would take visual. I didn't take time to look at my pictures until later. Then I put some of my favorites together for the wall of my observatory. I will also add that I had a
couple of GoPros set up, one for a time lapse of the 360 degree sunrise and another time lapse of my family watching it all.
