I got an email from Celestron that they have a giant announcement to make on Monday January 8th.

I suspect it might be an E AA platform but who knows...

I suspect you might be right; the Seestar seems to be selling very well.

Neat, but at $5400 CDN, I'll settle with what I have...

I received two emails just now from All-Star Telescope and Ontario Telescopes, both here in Canada. Guess what those were about? Let the dealer wars begin... It does look cool though!

I'll stick with my little SeeStar. It works great!

Okay, a 6" RASA OTA is pretty cool, BUT it uses only an equivalent of the ZWO ASI178 camera which has a small sensor with small pixels. Plus, it is on a "one-armed bandit" Alt-Az mount. How does it account for field rotation? $4400 USD is a bit steep for lesser gear even though it may have cutting-edge software.

Just my thoughts.
