These eyepieces popped up in a thread on another forum and we are looking for anyone who may have given them a try.

I have not tried them but these have been around since 2017 and since there are few reviews I would suspect they are not that good.
The 45 mm is pointless unless you are using a telescope with at least a f/7 and slower telescope.
Sky At Night has done a review of them from 2018. Typical reviews tend not to say anything bad about products just emphasizing the good points.
According to their review these are definitely not orthoscopic as they all show colour.
The only retailer I can think of is Altair Astro but looking at the numbers and reading the review I would not spend my money.

If anyone looking for good orthoscopic EPs, I would recommend Baader classic orthos. I even have two sets because they are great for binoviewers to.

I have Daystars version of the 25mm, its a 62° ortho and rocks the solar views very very well and is very sharp and crisp view.

The others I have heard are also decent but have no further experience with.

If looking for eyepieces for shorter focal length telescopes I imagine a good Plossl will outperform these and be much cheaper.

Baader Classic Orthoscopics are good but if you can find the Baader Genuine Orthoscopics they are a better eyepiece.

Doing narrowband is quite different than general observing though.
From the review they say each shows colour and edge distortion which means they are definitely not orthoscopic.

Some of the best eyepieces I have found for solar observing are the Vixen LV (discontinued) and they can be found used for a reasonable price.

Brief search on CN classifieds shows that last time a BGO came for sale was in 2020, so I would not hold my breath for those.

If you wait they will appear eventually

They are designed as widefield orthoscopics so up to the standard degree fov of orthos they perform just as well as my standard baader orthos I see no difference.

I use all my orthos primarily for visual but also do eyepiece projection with them in both multiband and narrowband typically in my quark cromosphere and sodium and also love them for viewing and imaging the moon.


The 25mm that I have shows zero colour or edge distortion in my scopes, been using othos for 30 years and I do say with all my skill this one rocks beyond whats needed indeed!

As I said I dont know about the others in the set.
