Hand controller.

I.ve recently acquired a new ( to me ) celestron tripod ( 8SE ) with the " Nextstar " mount and hand controller. It's the same as the one I've used for years . I've been trying to set it up to use with my Lunt60 and I'm having problems that I can't find answers for.
Being in the UK my old handset shows my location as " Leeds " whereas the new one asks for various Zones, I'm assuming that the zones refer to parts of USA.
The other problem is that the Sun is not shown in the Planets list.
Anyone know how to sort these two problems please ?
Keith.

If you can power it on (HC) there will be a section in the utilities menu that shows the version.
Is the HC a Nexstar or Nexstar+ ?
I think I still have manuals for both.

Are you aware of this website. Typically it has all the answers to all the questions.

Many thanks to you both, I have an early start tomorrow so it's early to bed for me. I'll check these out later tomorrow.

Hi, I found Utilities and a note on adding the Sun to the index. I'm hoping that by following the instructions the Sun problem has been solved.
The Hand Controller is a NEXSTAR and the version is shown as follows....HC:NXS 4.21. The second line says MC:5.14 5.14.
I'll be in and out all day so if you aren't able to help with the Location problem I'll see what I can find on that site that JatTee mentioned.
Many thanks,
Keith.

The mount is a mid 2000s with that version, my ASGT and SLT are version 4 as well.

When you power up the mount you should be able to press the undo button a couple of times for it to take you too the screen for inputting your time and location.
I do not know if Leeds is in the international list but it would be just as easy to input your location in degrees/ minutes/ seconds.
The mount will remember that location when you turn it on again.

This should be the manual for your mount if you do not have it.
