Updated Vixen refractors

#1

Post by Lady Fraktor »

Until a couple of days ago the Vixen website was showing all but 2 of their refractors as being discontinued.

Two days ago they updated the website showing the 'new' SD103S II and SD115S II.
Though the announcement is showing available as of 06.06.2023 dealers are still waiting for products to arrive.

The difference between the old and new is that they have replaced the lens spacers with a ring to eliminate reflection of the spacers which can look like pinched optics.
I will say that in the 7 years I have been using my Vixen SD115s I have never had a issue with this, nor have I ever seen anyone posting on forums about this issue either :confusion-shrug:

Another innovation Vixen has released is their new 7x50 finderscope.
The eyepiece/ crosshair and illuminator are detachable (1 piece) and the tube can then be used as a 70mm guide scope for astrophotography.
