The ESA/JAXA BepiColombo mission is gearing up for its next close flyby of Mercury on 19 June, when it will pass the planet’s surface at an altitude of about 236 km.

Interesting Graeme, thanks! Hope it works out for ESA and look forward to the upcoming pics.

NASA crashed MESSENGER into the surface of Mercury, and the idea was that in knowing BepiColombo was scheduled to go there, NASA hopes the ESA mission can take a reading of the debris scattered by MESSENGER. That would probably be some interesting science :D

Thanks again and all the best,
Mark
