recorded this a few nights ago -
Last year in April recorded similar in same area of sky same area in Arizona -
last april used wyze cam V3

my guess is its starlink sats but im really not sure -
no time code on camera but my guess is 4am ish -
15 second shutter - 20 second pause - causes break in streak line -

cam is DJI action One - has some adjustment but basic -
cam is in TL photo mode and makes One video file -
cant change the Pause timing -

video -
surprising to see that sats are Brighter when close to ground than when up high -

Is there some way that a Beam of sunlight gets Bent around the earth ?
this was about 60 - 90 minutes before sunrise

Hi Groovy2,

A very interesting video.

As you know the rough date/time and the direction could not use an app to see what satellites were in that part of the sky? Maybe Stellarium's Satellite plugin could help?

It would be great to know if any satellites match up.

Have fun.

Pete

@Xio1996 is correct, Stellarium's satellite plugin will help. All you need to do is set the time to the the appropriate time and it there were any satellites, they'll show up. You can set the time to speed up and even reverse if you have a need.

Good luck and clear skies,
Chris

Are we sure it's not a helicopter. Sure looks like one to me. The anti-collision strobe on the helicopter flashing off the blades that's how it appears to me.

@JayTee That is a great shout. A helicopter would fit the video.

Helicopter, satellite or whatever... What an interesting conundrum you have have bought us @Groovy2 :D

Very interesting. I’d research Iridium Flares or satellite flares in general. If the satellites are high enough, they will be illuminated by the sun long before dawn. The original 66 Iridium satellites have flat panels that are known for bright specular reflections. They may not be high enough to account for what you saw, not sure.

after studying this for a while Im pretty sure this is starlink satellites -
satellites pretty much stay same brightness - Same part of sky- earth spins underneath
the Blink part of streak is 20 second is pause between pictures -
the Lighted part of streak is 15 seconds shutter is open -

weird part is No Other satellites visible at this time in video (airplane on last frames )
No Doubt there was Many satellites in this part of sky -
my guess is 4am April 12 - Arizona -

is there some kind of earth / sun alinement that would cause Spot Light Type effect
that moves from Low Horizon Up like this ??

Last year in April 50 miles from my location recorded similar -
after about 10 nights it Stopped - not to be seen again till now -
