Then I confused who likes straight true finders, because for Alt/Az RACIs definitely.
So we agree that straight through finders should be banned then.

Count me in on the RACI bandwagon. Additionally, I want a diagonal on my polar scope.

I sold the two straight through finders (10x50) I had easily enough as well. I was of the assumption that people actually buy them to convert to guiding scopes after fitting an adapter.

As visual finders I could only see very limited use for them especially in relatively light polluted skies. It might be a different thing if your skies are pristinely dark, and you can just use your naked eye plus the finder to immediately get to the object.

I use a 60mm RACI finder on the dob along with a Rigel Quik-Finder to the initial star that I need to star hop from to get to the DSO. With the refractors I've switched to a Right Angle (non-rectified) 6x30mm which is perfect as it's lightweight and shows a massive FOV. I went non-rectified so that the finder shows exactly the same way as the refractor with a standard diagonal, so I don't have to keep switching view type in Sky Safari!

So, yes. Please ban the act of including straight through finder-scopes with a new telescope at the very least!!!
