Succumbed to temptation and bought the 14mm Morpheus. Had an observing session last night and gave it a good workout. In my 18 inch with coma corrector it worked flawlessly, good as the rest. I now have the complete set and since getting them, my other eyepieces don't get much use. Time to look at culling some of the others.

Congrats on the upgraded eyepieces. What other eyepieces do you have that you compared against the Morpheus set?

I've compared to direct or close focal lengths in Delos and Pentax XW in the 4.5, 6 and 9mm ranges and Ethos and ES 100 degree range for the 17,14 and 12 range. I like the 100 degree view but the eye relief is a little tight and the weight with coma corrector is a pain for balance. The Morpheus are light and even with a TV paracor I have no issues. Add better contrast and a very immersive view with great eyerelief , makes the Morpheus a good fit for my scope and style of observing.

I was talked into getting Naglers. A friend of mine swears by them. I always felt like I was looking through a port hole on a ship. Then I came across a 17.5mm Hyperion. I liked the open view and eye relief. I jumped at the chance to get a 9mm Morpheous when they came out. It's not as wide as the Naglers, but I enjoy the views much better. I don't have to look sideways through the hole to take advantage of the full view. Shortly after that, I purchased the 12.5mm Morpheous and I haven't touched the Naglers since. I'll probably pick up the 17.5mm soon. Too bad they don't produce something in the 20-22mm range.

I have the whole range + a 2nd 17.5mm. They are my main set, with the APM 30 UFF as an honourary addition. Great performance, immersiveness and enough eye relief.

An eyepiece that feels a lot like the Morpheus, but which has a slightly narrower field of view is the APM Ultra Flat Field 24mm.
If you want something in the apparent field range of the Morpheus but with similar eye relief and a great performance level, then the 22mm TeleVue Nagler.
It's a little like an old shoe--just comfortable from the moment you put it on. It's probably the best 22mm out there now.
But, if you can put up with a 70° field at that focal length (22mm), the 22mm that has been sold as the Astrotech AF70, Celestron Ultima LX, and Olivon 70 and it now sold by
Astromania, Omegon, Arcturus , SkyWatcher and Telescope Service is a long eye relief eyepiece that performs WAY above its price point.
Caution: the other focal lengths in the series are not up to the level of the 22mm and perform more like their price point.

I recently picked up a 12.5 Morpheus to “try one”. Let’s just say I liked it!

I have 6.5, 9.0, 12.5, 14 and 17.5 + BHZ Zoom and barlow. I passed on the 4.5mm because I want more drift time on those rare occasions of usability. So for the shortest FL I have the APM 4.77 110°.

Needless to say I am a fan of the long ER and immersive views of the 76° field of view.

Everyone will be different but I found the 17.5mm was my favourite.

I have three Morpheus and two Delos. M17.5mm is the best of them. It really is incredible.

17.5mm is my favourite
9mm & 12.5mm 2nd=
6.5mm 3rd
14mm 4th
4.5mm 5th

9mm is as great as my Pentax XW 10mm & Nikon NAV SW 10mm
12.5mm is better than my Vixen LVW 13mm,
6.5mm is preferable to a Pentax XW 7mm (I find <10mm XWs hard for eye placement),
4.5mm is preferable to a Pentax XW 5mm (ditto).
14mm is getting a 2nd chance.

I haven't used mine extensively enough to give a definitive answer but I'd say of the 4 I have the 17.5 is the best and the one I've used the most so far.

I would agree with 25585 that the 12.5 and 9 are about equal and slightly better than the 6.5.

But if pressed it would be 9mm and 17.5mm probably because I like those FL's anyway.

I also have owned the APM 24 UFF and 30mm UFF for a while, which are arguably long Morphei. But my favorite over the past 6 months has been the APM 20mm 100°. I just love the space walking, especially over dark skies. My favorite eyepiece! Glad I got it when it was still available - "Out of my cold dead hands"! At the moment it's the last eyepiece I would part with. That said, I am not planning to part with any, other than the Orion 9mm Expanse I purchased when I was more naive than now.

I agree the 17.5mm is an incredible eyepiece, but the magnification is too low for most observing in my scopes.
The 9mm, though.....perfect.
Of course, my eyepieces bracket that with an 11mm 85° and 8mm 100°, so the 9mm is not in my collection.
9mm, though, is recommended. It's as good as the 17.5mm.
Aw heck, maybe I'll just have to get one later.......

I have the set, for me the 9mm is the stand out, it's used mainly in my 18in F4.5 with CC, and has replaced the ethos 8mm.

9mm was the first I bought, it gives me 100x in my refractors.

Then 17.5mm which was last & a latecomer to the range. The other 4 followed soon after - 6.5, 12.5, 14 & 4.5mm within a month. They were cheaper then....

2nd Morpheus 17.5mm delivered today, now I have 7 Morphei.

Thanks to @WilliamPaolini for his reviews and enthusiasm for using the 17.5 as a single & binoviewing eyepiece. Another 9mm may be adding to my bv pairs soon now supplies are coming through again. Its been a long wait

I have the 14 mm. No field curvature as mentioned above. Field curvature and astigmatism is mostly due to the optical system ( two of the Seidel aberrations) and not the eyepiece. Inevitable in fast systems like an F4 or F5 Newtonian. I have seen none with it in a f7.5 system.
I like the ergonomic field of view, no turning of the head in order to see the edge of the field, but still large enough to satisfy wide field enthusiasts. One can use it with and without extension ring and rubber eyecup. Without extension ring one gets the excitement of a floating field, as if there is almost no edge, on condition the eye is placed right. (the 28mm Edmund RKE- effect) Looking through a portal hole in a space-station. Misplacing the eye leads to kidney beans and blackouts. Using the 43mm extension ring prevents this, but the floating effect is gone.

Transmission is high. Colors are vivid. Airy discs until the edge, some discoloration on the edge. When upgrading I sold my Naglers and kept the 14mm Morpheus. I am quite happy with it and use it standard in my 102mm Mak for a 100X magnification. Wouldn't trade it in for another eyepiece, unless another Morpheus.
