I stumbled upon this - never watched this fellow's video before. He seems to know what he's talking about. Caution: very long video, but he gives time stamps early on if you want to jump ahead.

I'd speculated on the viability of methane with some other enthusiasts years ago. Nice to have a fairly clear explanation of the differences in fuels and how they influence the characteristics of the booster you end up with. In a word, it comes down to superior logistics.
Any metaphor will tear if stretched over too much reality.
