New Image: Jones-Emberson 1
And with astro-dark gone in a couple of weeks thats probably that for winter/spring 2024. A grand total of 7 imaging nights for this year so far. I am really starting to feel that astro-imaging in the West of Ireland is basically not realistic. Lots of others in Ireland are setting up remote systems in Spain but its just not for me really.
So some hard thinking over the next few months as to whether I will even bother setting the gear up again after summer.
Anyway, this was 3 hours with the LX200 8", ASI 2600mc and the L-Ultimate. I think the L-ultimate has done a reasonable job but I just dont have enough integration time on this very faint object to do it justice.
Guiding; SW Evoguide 50ED, ASI 120mm mini

Sharpstar 61EDPH II (with dedicated 0.8 reducer) with wiliam Optics 32mm uniguide
Camera: ASI2600MC pro. QHY 163M with ZWO 7nm NB filters, Canon EOS700D astro mod
Secondary mount: Skywatcher StarAdventurer

I'm with you on the weather front. But is it worth it? Without a doubt it's worth it! Even if the weather doesn't allow the multinight sessions we would like, it's still an excellent craic to get out there and do what we do without the expectations of a few years ago.

Yeah I know you are right! Its just sometimes difficult to keep the motivation when its over 3 months between clear nights, and when you have just come home from Lanzarote where it was clear EVERY night for the entire week.Graeme1858 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 9:20 am That's a very fine Headphones nebula David.
