M81 and M82 - 2024 version

M81 and M82 were the first galaxies I ever saw thru a telescope. Many years later, they were one of the first that I imaged. Here's my latest version of the pair. I was pretty aggressive with my HDRMT blend on M81 to help bring out the arms. I also darkened the core a tad to tease out some faint detail hiding there. M82 also continues to amaze me with the spectacular burst extending from the core. If you have a chance, click on the thumbnail and zoom in on the large version over on Astrobin.

This is a cropped version taken with my Esprit 100 so pretty happy with the detail I was able to see considering the short FL.

Very impressive! It's nice being able to see just a hint of the surrounding IFN coming through as well. I'm not a fan of the super deep exposures where the galaxies or nebulae are completely washed out by the IFN. This to me is a perfect mix.

Thanks, Greg/ I posted a widefield revision with the IFN dialed up a bit, but decided I liked this mix a bit more.
