Re: Photographer Travels 10,000 Miles to Capture Stunning Photo of the Entire Milky Way Galaxy
Pretty awesome read.
I can’t imagine how much this endeavor cost, but good for him to be able to pursue his dream.
The image on his web site looks amazing. It would be fun to dive into a full resolution image of this thing.
Actually, the print prices are very reasonable.
Thanks for the share!

I looked it up on Stellarium, from Brisbane where the Milky Way is right on the equator if you pick the right time. His wide image spans about 160 degrees. Of course, it's the part with the highest concentration of objects. His personal website has amazing images.

Exactly, he captures great images which deserve plenty of credit, no need for exaggeration and misleading the readers.SkyHiker wrote: ↑Fri Aug 11, 2023 7:12 pmI looked it up on Stellarium, from Brisbane where the Milky Way is right on the equator if you pick the right time. This has occurred before.
I have a framed version of the 100% 360° Milky Way from Mellinger ©1999 on the wall of my den.
Currently using a 12.5" dob and a 4" apo refractor
