Lucky they didn't do a similar cost analysis of the JWST prior to launch!

70 x the potential target price of the engine from SpaceX (e.g., $70 million from Aerojet vs. $1 million from SpaceX?) clearly the budget needs some trimming@!

The legacy space launch business was inherently inefficient. Too few customers, too few providers, and too many constraints to see a real market develop.

SpaceX and the few other successful private launch companies had a generational opportunity to use newer technology to disrupt an entire industry and they've succeeded beyond anyone's expectations.
Any metaphor will tear if stretched over too much reality.
