UFO Aug 28th

I was searching for meteors when I found something strange in the sky that looked a bit like the Flying Hockey Stick.

I saw this on Flickr. Tell us more. Was the camera fixed on a tripod or mount? How long was the exposure? What is the approximate field of view we are looking at?

Thanks.

Hi Steve.

All the details are in my blog (http://sungazer127mak.blogspot.com/2022 ... -2022.html) I was using my standard meteor search technique. I mount my DSLR on a tripod and aim it towards a likely part of the sky. I use 18mm focal length, ISO 6400 and 6 seconds exposure. I set an intervalometer to take photos automatically. I cropped the image, so the field of view was probably about half a degree.

I saw a similar object on Jan 29th. Although both images look like trails, I saw nothing on the preceding or following images, so whatever the objects were, they appeared, moved and disappeared within about 6 seconds.

Reminds me of the Phoenix Lights. Did the light source move from one end of the arc to the other and thus the hockey stick?

If you really think it's an unknown, you can report it to nuforc.org and upload your pic(s).

I didn't see the object, I just caught it on camera,

I claim it as unknown, rather than clear evidence of little green men.
