Just Ordered My CEM 70 Mount –– Again!
The only thing holding my frustration in check is that with all the smoke we have had in this part of the world this summer there have been very few nights where Imaging would even have been possible. So last week I decided to check around to see if other vendors had CEM 70s in stock. All of the other large astronomy businesses in the US we're all showing out of stock still. Finally, I went on to the Agena Astro website, these are the guys that sell me my eye pieces, and lo and behold they had a CEM 70 in stock. I quickly sent them an email asking if the mount was actually in stock and they said yes, so I promptly ordered it. I now have a tracking number for a CEM 70 to arrive next week. I also promptly called OPT and canceled my order with them.
All I have to do now is sell my CEM 60. It's only lightly used.
Cheers

PM me if you are truly tempted. That mount was used less than 10 times.notFritzArgelander wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 2:42 am Glad things have gone well at long last.

Re: Just Ordered My CEM 70 Mount –– Again!
I've been considering a mount with greater capacity but I need to digest the car I just bought first. That should take about a week for things to settle, so I know what I'm doing and what is affordable. The CEM60 might be a little more than what I need. I'll PM you within the week once I do my crazy kabuki dance of analysis. I have an ID, WA, OR, UT circular tour to be scheduled soon now that I am more mobile.JayTee wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 3:59 amPM me if you are truly tempted. Thanks. I'll be knowing sooner than the week I estimated, perhaps as soon as Tuesday.

Re: Just Ordered My CEM 70 Mount –– Again!
It IS tempting as it is available now. But it is a bit more mount than I need. I think a CEM40 would fit my needs better. Thanks for the temptation though!notFritzArgelander wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 5:55 amThanks. I'll be knowing sooner than the week I estimated, perhaps as soon as Tuesday.
