I'm not too familiar with DSS but did I read correctly that you are trying to run DSS on the CR3 files while still on your SD card?
If so, that's a no-no. You need to copy the files to your harddrive to process. It is possible that DSS, like other programs, needs a huge cache location to do swapping ...
