Re: What have you been up to lately?

Visiting fam in Kansas City, so even though it's closed for winter, I thought I'd bop down to the KC club's obsy just to check it out. Hopefully, I can attend an open house when it reopens next spring.

Re: Christmas list anyone?

We usually buy whatever we want through the year (within reason), so Christmas lists are usually something like, "Ummm, you want an apple pie or should we go out for bento boxes?"

Re: Weather

With the exception of the first half of the night of the last full moon, cloudy, windy, relatively cold, and rain. Every now and then there'll be a tease of clear sky, but it doesn't last long enough to observe anything.

Forecast for the next seven days is more garbage. Yay.

Re: Who's Out on the Telescope Tonight?

Thunderstorms were supposed to move through the area, but there was a clear bit around 20:00, so I grabbed my ultralight 50mm set-up and stepped out for awhile. Nice! I had a pair of Sears 7x35s, puchased around 1980, but wrecked them. C'est la vie...

Airy Disk scopes?

Unfortunate name if you Google it looking for the company Web site...

Anyway, anybody ever see / use / buy an Airy Disk refractor? Are they a new ED player or are they a rebrand?

Thanks!

Better hope that if aliens get here first, they don't subscribe to this viewpoint.

Re: AZ-Gti first light

Congrats on the successful first light, Olen! This is quite capable little mount. The stock tripod is shaky though, but should be OK for 60-80mm range.

I bought just the head from FLO in the UK. I run it on my Innorel RT90C or my geared-column Sirui Hooby-dooby (forgot the model number). Both ...
