lock screw not tightening

Post by jazzin »

The lock screw which hold the laser collimator in the holder won't tighten when I have the collimator tube in but when I take the tube out, the lock screw does tighten. Can Anybody tell me what's going on?

You haven't given us much information to work on. The only thing I can think based on what you have told us is that the front of the locking thread is stripped.

The screw is much harder material so the chance of the screw stripped is low
But I am a bit confused , I assume you use it to collimate your newt , it fits the same as an eyepiece, etc so do you have the problem with all? what tube are you refering to when you say "I take it out"
